Reconnect is a no-charge computer & television recycling program for consumers in Oregon

The program is intended to raise awareness of the importance of responsible computer and television disposal and give residents a free and convenient way to do the right thing with their unwanted e-waste.

Reconnect is managed by Dell and Goodwill Industries. The program offers more than 1,000 drop off locations for consumers throughout the United States, including six in Southern OR. The goal of the program is to keep used computers, computer equipment and televisions from landfills and to educate residents on the importance of proper recycling.

Significance of Program to Region 

All proceeds recovered from the recycled e-waste go to Goodwill to support job training and employment services programs.

Consumers can drop-off computer equipment and televisions at any participating Goodwill location throughout the region.

While computers and televisions do contain some environmentally sensitive materials, these materials can be safely removed or recycled, but only if the e-waste is kept out of landfills in the first place.  Reconnect provides an environmentally responsible solution for computer recycling

How to Recycle an Unwanted Computer or Television

Consumers can visit www.reconnectpartnership.com   or call Goodwill at (541)772-3300 to locate the most convenient drop-off location at any of the six participating Goodwill donation centers and retail stores.

There is no charge for dropping off computers or televisions at Goodwill.  Any brand of either item is accepted.
Customers are responsible for removing data from their hard drives. Neither Goodwill nor Dell is liable for data removal or protection.

Customers may be able to take a tax deduction for their donation.  Goodwill will provide donors with a donation receipt at the time of donation. Customers are encouraged to check with their tax advisors for more information.
